Rob's music career began in his hometown of Littleton, CO, playing in high school bands and later at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He moved to Japan in 1991, where he spent 7 years as an English teacher and part-time musician. After a short but lucrative stint as a street performer in Tokyo, Rob spent a year writing and recording 13 original songs for a self-produced album,"Lean On The Scene". His first group in Japan was the Acoustic Beatles, an acoustic and vocal duo playing all-Beatles material. A national act, the Acoustic Beatles played concerts around the Tokyo and Osaka regions and on all four islands of Japan. A later acoustic duo, Foolish Notion, also specialized in harmony singing and played around the Tokyo bar scene. He moved back to the U.S. in 1999 and had a short IT career which ended after 9/11.
Rob played his first solo gig in January of 2002, and things took off from there. During the winter ski season and peak summer months of July and August, he can be found in Breckenridge at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co and the Blue River Bistro. Around the Denver area, his varied set list and high-quality musicianship find him performing in a wide variety of locales and private events. And attending Rob's shows actually helps the environment - 30% of all the money that ends up in the tip jar goes straight to environmental charity organizations.
